What would Eddy do on a cloudy winter day?

Today has been a cloudy cold one in Boulder after a streak of amazing weather. Time to look to the greatest cyclist of all time for inspiration on a day like this.

Another sweet Rapha vid

I'll be out emulating this next weekend, following the Tour of California through its two final stages. Stay tuned for the pain report from atop Mt. Palomar.

2009 Rides, so far...

Thanks to my new favorite program, Ascent, and my Garmin 205, I'm now addicted to capturing the numbers for every ride I do. Can't wait to see what I rack up by the end of the year.

First 43 days of 2009
26 days riding, 9 days skiing
464 miles ridden
36hrs38mins pedaling
43,470 vertical feet climbing

Another snowy morning on Marshall Mesa

This has become my new favorite riding activity, to the extent that if it snows between 1 and 4 inches in Boulder I'll be out riding singletrack the next morning. As long as you get there quickly, before things get tracked out or the snow starts to melt into mud the riding is superb. Last time out it was seriously cold, around 3 degrees F, with 2-3 inches of fresh snow. This Tuesday we awoke to 2-3" of fresh but much warmer, around 30. I knew that by noon it would all be gone, so I convinced Kate and Spencer to head out with me early to enjoy the day. Only took one picture, of the his and her white singlespeed team, but you get the idea. Beautiful blue sky, warm grippy snow, and fun trails. Doesn't get much better.

Rapha

I didn't make this, but I wish I had. Shot with a 35mm lens adapter similar to the one Alex rented for our Monaco trip. So sick.
